Mutual Recognition Agreements
Caribbean Export is deeply invested in the growth of industries, especially those which are pegged to be indicators of economic growth and diversification.
As part of this mandate, and its implementation of the CARIFORUM – EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), Caribbean Export supports the negotiation process of the region’s leading architectural professionals, collectively known the Caribbean Architects Mutual Recognition Agreement Committee (CAMRAC) towards the development of an EU – CARIFORUM Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA), which would be the basis for greater access to the European Market.
These MRAs aim specifically to create business opportunities for regional professionals to work in the European market by constructing an agreement which takes into consideration the factors surrounding the export of the architectural services in particular. These agreements are designed to benefit both parties both developmentally and financially.
CARMAC aims to achieve this EU – CARIFORUM MRA by first establishing Intra-National MRA across the region. These agreements will be established through five activities:
- Belize national consultations
- Trinidad and Tobago national consultations
- Barbados national consultations
- OECS consultations and
- Sub-regional consultations
