With just weeks to go before the Caribbean Investment Forum (CIF) 2026, momentum is building as leading financial institutions, development partners, investors and business leaders prepare to gather in Barbados from October 5–7, 2026.
Hosted by the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export), in collaboration with the Government of Barbados under the patronage of Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, and the European Union as part of the Global Gateway initiative, CIF 2026 will bring together decision-makers from across the Caribbean and internationally to advance investment opportunities, strengthen partnerships and connect capital with viable Caribbean projects.
This year’s Forum is being supported by a strong group of regional and international partners, reflecting the importance of collaboration in mobilising investment for Caribbean growth.
Among the leading partners are the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Republic Bank and JMMB, whose involvement brings together development finance expertise and regional private-sector leadership at a time when Caribbean economies are seeking greater flows of investment into productive and sustainable sectors.
Dr. Damie Sinanan, Executive Director of Caribbean Export, said the calibre of institutions supporting CIF 2026 reflects the Forum’s growing role in the regional investment landscape.
“CIF is fundamentally about bringing the right people into the same room, investors with capital, businesses and projects with potential, and partners with the expertise and networks to help move opportunities forward. The participation of institutions such as the IDB, Republic Bank, the European Union and our wider group of partners demonstrates a shared commitment to building a stronger investment ecosystem for the Caribbean”.
Senior representatives of the IDB participating in CIF 2026 include Anton Edmunds, General Manager, Country Department Caribbean Group, and Fabrizio Opertti, Manager, Productivity, Trade and Innovation Sector. Republic Financial Holdings will be represented by Richard S. Sammy, Group Vice President, alongside other senior business and investment leaders.
The Forum will also welcome Piers Linney MBE, entrepreneur, former Dragons’ Den investor and co-founder of Implement AI, who will deliver the closing keynote, “Small Markets. Global Capital. Big Ambition: Building the Caribbean’s Next Generation of Investable Businesses”.
A defining feature of CIF 2026 will be its curated pipeline of Caribbean companies actively seeking investment.
Eight projects currently featured for the Forum are seeking more than US$39 million in combined capital, spanning Digital Transformation, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security, Green Economy Transition, and Logistics and Transportation. Each project has been vetted and qualified by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) ahead of presentation to investors.
The opportunities range from a US$12.5 million disaster communication and energy resilience platform in Jamaica, to digital health and cross-border payment solutions, climate-smart agriculture, regenerative agricultural inputs, logistics, technology and export-oriented agro-processing.
Projects include opportunities from Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Haiti and The Bahamas, demonstrating both the geographic spread and diversity of investment opportunities emerging across the Caribbean.
Beyond formal project presentations, each participating company will be available on the CIF deal floor, where scheduled meetings will connect investors directly with project owners based on sector and investment interest.
This investment-focused model is central to CIF’s purpose: moving beyond broad discussion to create an environment where investors can assess opportunities, engage directly with project promoters and pursue potential transactions and strategic partnerships.
Dr. Sinanan added:
“The projects are really at the heart of CIF. We want investors coming to Barbados not simply to hear about the Caribbean’s potential, but to see credible opportunities, meet the people behind them and have serious conversations about where capital can be deployed”.
The programme will also examine where global capital is moving, what investors are looking for, how Caribbean firms can become more investment-ready, and how the region can build stronger pipelines of scalable businesses.
CIF 2026 takes place at the Hilton Barbados Resort from October 5–7, 2026 under the theme “Invest. Innovate. Accelerate.”
Investors, business leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers and development partners are encouraged to register to participate.
